Josh's Story

Hey everyone, my name is Josh and I am originally from Daytona Beach Florida. About a year ago, my wife Olivia and I made the move down to Gainesville. Right now, I am a nurse at Shands. I originally found out about Salt Church from a neighbor at my apartment complex. She had a fellow coworker that was heavily involved at Salt, and that coworker invited all of us to come for a Sunday service! Soon, we were sold. So far, my wife and I have loved how every sermon is Bible-centered with a gospel focus. All of the community opportunities have also helped us to easily plug in at Salt.

About a month ago, I remember coming back to my car after hitting a few golf balls at a local range. Looking down to check my phone, I saw that I was added to a group chat with Paul Sabino and about 15 other numbers. Paul had challenged all of us to join a study on the book, “Lead” by Paul David Tripp. On top of the weekly meetings, we were paired with a daily accountability partner and received special challenges throughout the week to grow our relationship with Christ. God has not called us to live this Christian life alone. God has firmly taught me that community involvement is so vitally important for growing one’s relationship with Him; I’m so thankful for community groups like this that help me do just that.

I’m very excited to get involved with The Salt Company for the fall semester. College can be a confusing time for many different reasons, and I would love to help pour into students who are hearing the gospel for the very first time. Additionally, I’m excited to be a part of the worship team and to use the gifts God has given me to glorify Him. And as always, I’m very excited for the Florida Gator games this season!
